Icelandic innovation helps Russia reach new levels of modernization in the fish processing industry

Skaginn 3X, along with other Icelandic companies, is instrumental in supplying modern, high-tech processing equipment to a new fish processing facility and a new super trawler that is being built for the Collective Farm Fishery by V.I. Lenin in Russia. The new fish factory is one of the most advanced processing facilities in Kamchatka, equipped with the latest technology to grade, pack and freeze species such as Alaska pollock,Pacific cod, wild salmon, squid as well as some species of pelagic fish. The project is a part of a government investment program aimed at modernizing and supporting new operations in the field.

 

On August 13 this year, Russian prime minister Mikhail Mishustin visited the co-operative’s operation in Kamchatka.He toured the new Lenin factory equipped with turn-key-systems from Skaginn 3X and Icelandic collaborator Frost. Together the companies are using their innovation, maritime experience and processing expertise to contribute to a new, high-tech future of fish processing in Russia.

 

Skaginn 3X is proud to be a part of the modernization incentive taking place in Russia. The government aims to increase the fishing sector’s contribution to the overall economy through better employment opportunities, and a wide deployment of cutting-edge fisheries technology that will maximize production output and product quality.
